Factory notes

Tech

No public PDF or CAD set was found. The factory tech-spec page existed as HTML. What follows is paraphrased from that page (Wayback, 2 October 2014) and from matching press. Do not treat ICON’s “Magpul Ronin 1200” as a factory model.

Archived factory page: the47.com/tech-specs (Wayback, 2 Oct 2014). Also captured through at least 27 May 2019. Photos on that page are labeled product shots, not drawings. The factory history page is the narrative source.

Linkage fork

Axle path matches telescopic forks, with +13 mm trail. Penske monoshock. Investment-cast, heat-treated aluminum legs made “just a few miles from the Ronin factory.” Carbon front fender protects the oil cooler and radiator. Front end “comparable in weight” to a telescopic fork.

Cooling

Rotax heat “enough to boil the fuel in the frame.” Single front core. Overflow tank inside the left fork leg. Injection-molded removable grill. Stacked projector beams.

RFID / no key cylinder

RFID chip under the airbox cover; no two chips the same; no visible key cylinder on the production bike. (The 2010 concept still retained the factory key and steering lock.)

Nacelle & controls

Cast nacelle: analog tach plus digital speed / water temp / voltage / mileage. Clutch-side 4-way switch; single start/stop on the brake side. Custom radial master cylinders with reservoirs on top of the cylinders; reach and leverage-ratio adjust.

Lighting & mirrors

Bar-end mirrors with LEDs visible front and rear. Two-piece polycarbonate tail-light; brighter outer strips for brake.

Seat, airbox, exhaust

Injection-molded seat pan, dual-density foam, hand-stitched cover. Injection-molded airbox with side ram-air slots; hand-laid carbon cover over two sealed fuse boxes. Belly muffler: cast-aluminum ends, stainless body, ceramic coat.

Electrics

Entire electrical system new; three-section harness; custom-wound high-efficiency stator; rotor modified for oil cooling. Each bike individually remapped for the free-flow intake/exhaust; cooler at low RPM.

Castings & subframe

One cast unit: footpegs + battery + adjustable belt idler; replaceable rubber treads; billet brake/shift levers. CNC-machined, TIG-welded tubular subframe; cast tail + intake housing as a stressed member; ECU in the tail cap; quick-release seat knob.

Conflicting published numbers — not reconciled here

Donors bought: “about 25” (TFB quoting Hell for Leather, Mar 2010); “about 30” (Cycle World); 47 acquired in two weeks (factory history); 50 (Mayberry, Jalopnik 25 Aug 2015; TFB/Leno). FAQ: 47 production + 4 pre-production test bikes + the 2009 concept. Weight loss: 54 lb (factory / New Atlas); ~50 lb / 413 lb wet (Cycle World, Kneeslider); 40 lb / 425 lb (Uncrate-era copy). Peak race weight: 375 lb wet (Bike EXIF) vs 405 lb (The Vintagent) — both claim “55 lb under the road bike.” First batch: factory 12 in 2014 vs Asphalt & Rubber’s 10 in mid-2013. “Ronin 1200” is ICON marketing, not a factory model. Prefer the history page when accounts disagree.

A CDX query for PDFs on the47.com returned no captures. Prefix searches for /privacy*, /terms*, *RMW* timed out or were empty. “RMW1200-140929” looks like an internal document code (RMW + 2014-09-29). Drop files in documents/ at the site root — same folder the documents page uses.
